Humbolt Redwood Forest

Going back in time a little to our family summer vacation/camping trip. I have some fun pictures and would like to share them all. So why not during November when our first really winter storm is about to hit us? There is nothing better than dreaming of the good old days of summer!

AJ found us a really cool camp ground in the heart of the Humbolt Redwood Forest. It was south of Eureka and inland a bit but way off the freeway. It felt very much in the boonies even though they had flush toilets and showers. It was real camping. They campground was full of families and lots of kids. AJ loved watching all the kids ride around on their bikes. Someday, he will be one of the kids riding a bike.
We took a day hike in to the forest and saw some pretty cool sites. Enjoy these pictures.

Off we go!

"This is the way to the Giant Tree, right?"

Horizontal stripes are never good on a pregnant woman, but man, that tree is huge!
